Appointments

Opening hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm in Ulverstone with appointments from 8:30am to 4.45pm and opening hours 9am – 5pm in Penguin with booked appointments from 9am to 4.45pm. A typical appointment time is 15 minutes. If you feel you require more time than a standard appointment or you have more than one problem to discuss, please book a long appointment. By using online booking though our website, specific types and lengths of appointments can be booked.

URGENT MEDICAL CARE

Our Practice sets aside limited appointments for booking on the day. These are reserved for our patients that are unwell and require urgent medical care. Please phone our clinic to book.

After Hours & Weekends

Patrick Street Clinic alternates cover for weekends and Public Holidays with Victoria Street Clinic. Clinics are between 9am and 12pm except for Christmas Day and Good Friday. For clinic details phone (03) 6425 1611, the recorded message will advise which surgery is on call.

New Patients

Patrick Street Clinic Ulverstone and Penguin welcomes new patients from the Central Coast Municipality. Appointments can be made by phoning our clinic on (03) 64251611 in Ulverstone or (03) 64370955 in Penguin. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow for registration. Cancellations

We understand that there are circumstances in which you made need to cancel your appointment and we ask that you do this either through Automed, if it was originally booked in Automed, or by calling our receptionists at least 2 hours prior. This allows other patients to utilise the appointment time. Please allow at least 2 hours notice for all cancellations. A fee may be charged if the appointment is not cancelled in time.

Prescriptions

All prescriptions, including repeats, require a consultation. We encourage you to request any due medications during your consult.

  • Consultation Fees are to be paid in full at the time of your appointment. If paying electronically the Medicare Rebate is refunded instantly to your bank account. Appointments prior to 8am, after 8pm, Saturdays after 1pm and Sundays attract a higher fee.
  • Additional services provided by doctors may attract further fees such as: Theatre Procedures, Iron Infusions, Dressings etc.
  • Your doctor may refer you to other health service providers such as another doctor, allied health, pathology, radiology or specialist. Please be aware these appointments may attract further fees.

Coronavirus and Patrick Street Clinic

The following conditions of entry will apply for patients and visitors to Patrick Street Clinic:

As the current risk level of COVID-19 is classified as ‘low’ in Tasmania, masks are optional for patients and visitors to Patrick Street Clinics.

With consideration of their individual risk, some of our GP’s will ask their patients to wear a mask. Our reception staff will let you know if this is the case for your appointment.

Any person experiencing cough, cold and/or flu-like symptoms will not be permitted to enter Patrick Street Clinic buildings but may be asked to wait in their car or on our “Deck” isolation space in Ulverstone.

Alternatively, a telehealth appointment can be made at the Patrick Street Clinic for patients who are COVID positive. Standard fees apply.
